Terms of Service

KULVEX is a self-hosted AI assistant licensed by AstroLexis. These terms govern your installation and use of the software. By installing, activating, or using KULVEX you agree to them.
1. The licence
Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and operate KULVEX on the hardware you own or control, for the tier and duration described at checkout. The licence is bound to a hardware fingerprint at activation. One licence covers one machine; rebinding to new hardware is permitted within reasonable limits — see your purchase receipt for the rebinding policy that applies to your tier.
2. What you can do
- Install KULVEX on your own server.
- Run unlimited agents, conversations, and integrations within the limits of your tier.
- Edit any configuration, prompt, instructions, or learned rules.
- Connect KULVEX to your own AI providers (xAI, Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) using your own API keys — those provider costs are paid by you, not by AstroLexis.
- Inspect the data KULVEX stores locally and export, back up, or delete it.
3. What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the KULVEX software or your licence key.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source from compiled components.
- Use KULVEX to generate or distribute illegal content (CSAM, malware, fraud, harassment, etc.).
- Use KULVEX for activities that violate the privacy or rights of others — for example, scraping someone's private messages without consent, or impersonating a real person.
- Circumvent the licensing or activation system.
- Use KULVEX to provide commercial AI services to third parties as if it were your own product (a hosted SaaS reseller scenario). Personal/internal business use is fine.
4. AI outputs are not guaranteed
KULVEX uses language models — both local (Qwen, Gemma, etc.) and optional cloud providers — that may produce outputs that are wrong, biased, offensive, fabricated, or otherwise unsuitable for your situation.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before acting on it, sending it to others, or relying on it for decisions that have legal, medical, financial, or safety consequences. AstroLexis makes no warranty regarding the accuracy or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated outputs.
5. Third-party costs and providers
When you connect KULVEX to an external AI provider (via the Correction Engine, Cloud chat backend, etc.) or to a messaging platform (Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram), you are entering a separate relationship with that provider. AstroLexis is not a party to that relationship, does not control their pricing or availability, and is not liable for any charges they apply to your account. Always set spend caps in your provider dashboard.
6. Updates and changes
AstroLexis may release updates that change KULVEX features, defaults, or system requirements. Updates are optional unless a security issue requires a forced patch (rare, and only affecting the licensing/auth path).
These terms may change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and surfaced in the dashboard the next time you log in. Continued use after a material change constitutes acceptance.
7. Termination
Your licence ends if:
- You cancel or fail to renew (for subscription tiers).
- You materially breach these terms (e.g. resale, illegal use).
- You request a refund within the refund window stated at purchase.
8. Warranty disclaimer
KULVEX is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AstroLexis does not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every attack.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AstroLexis' total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to KULVEX shall not exceed the amount you paid for the licence in the twelve months preceding the claim. AstroLexis is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.
10. Privacy
Use of KULVEX is also governed by the Privacy Policy. The privacy policy describes what stays local and what (if anything) is sent to AstroLexis or third parties.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction AstroLexis operates from. Disputes will first be addressed via good-faith negotiation; if unresolved, by the competent courts of that jurisdiction. Specific jurisdiction will be confirmed in the v1.0 release of these terms.

Note: This is a v1 of the terms. Specific clauses (jurisdiction, refund window, rebinding policy, commercial-use boundaries) will be tightened by legal review before the v1.0 commercial release.
